As we enter the holiday season, we are reminded of the goodwill and generosity of our community that bring A Better Chance (ABC) New Canaan’s mission to life.
Since 1974, ABC New Canaan has provided transformative academic experiences to talented young men of color, supporting them in becoming well-rounded leaders and preparing them for success in college and life. This year, eight remarkable young men call ABC House home: Emmanuel, Justin, Kian, Yanfer, Chris, Dariel, Henyerson, and Malicah. Every night, they gather around the dinner table, sharing stories of their day at New Canaan High School, their college dreams, and their determination to make the most of this extraordinary opportunity.
None of this would be possible without our incredible town, which not only hosts our program but also wholeheartedly embraces it. This support sends a powerful message to our scholars: that people believe in them, that their dreams are worth investing in, and that they’re part of a legacy of achievement.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, our program is offered 100% free of charge. We cover every need—housing, food, tutoring, extracurricular activities, SAT prep, and more—so our scholars can focus on achieving their goals.
